Elderberry Blocking

Hey guys, here's my blocking (finally). Please go ahead and leave all the feedback you can think of. You don't have to make it enormous like I did :)

Thanks,

Comments

Nice job guys. I figured I'd leave some quick feedback, even if it's too late!

El Snoozo: I like the lean forward on the "gallon" and "wine" accents. Makes the character look inviting, which goes well with the gentle voice. My main complaint is that I think the wrist bend angles are too extreme for most of the animation. I realize you want to exaggerate, but they're nearing the angle of looking "broken."

Josh: I like how you start out with subtle tilts of the head, and build up into more motion with the upper body and arms. The thinking and shrug on "stricknine" is a great moment. I think the main thing you can improve is moving that gesturing hand over to the (your) left a little to get a better sillhouette. Just so it's not getting lost in the arm of the chair.

Good starts guys, hopefully I'll have my blocking posted soon so you can give me your 2 cents.

Eldeberry Wine: First Pass

Well here it is, my first pass at the sound file. All the main poses are pretty much there, and now it's the mad rush to "Git er done" by the end o' the month.

Lemme know what you guys think.

Also I went the youtube route, and it seems that the video gets a little delayed from the soundfile..I dunno if that's from compression, or what.

First Blocking Pass

Well here is my first pass at blocking. I have been working on posing for quite some time, and I feel like I have some more to work on, but I wanted to post it early and get any feedback people might have. Any comments are welcomed and appreciated! I hope to make a good pass on this over the weekend, but we'll see how much time I have.

Thanks!

Free props. They are scattered, and a lot of them are .max files, but there are also quite a few .3ds files, and those can be imported into Maya with the .3ds plugin inside bonus tools.

If there are other rigs that I have left out, or if there is more out there that should be linked on this page, please don't hesitate to either add a link, or send me a link that I can post.

How it works!

Welcome to the Animation Beefcake's Animation Challenge!

Here's how it works:
-At the begining of each month, a sound clip will be posted.
-You have one month to complete an animtion for that sound clip.
-At the end of each month, after all of the participants have posted their work, public crits will be given.

This is designed as a way for the people involved to become better animators through peer critiques.
All critiques should be constructive and not inflamatory.
If you post a shot, you are required to comment once on each of the other entries.

Thats it! Pretty simple.
